ESTers in Action: Jan 30-31

2017 EST summer leaguers in bold; one-day event participants italicized.

Northfield Mount Hermon 69, Williston Northampton 45
Silke Milliman (Northfield Mount Hermon 2019), fresh off NMH Athlete of the Week honors, had another strong game on Wednesday. She led all scorers with 20 points in the victory.

Section I

Putnam Valley 67, Poughkeepsie 24
Kelli Venezia (Putnam Valley 2020) continued her strong sophomore campaign, knocking down 5 threes and leading all scorers with 19 points in Wednesday's win.

Clarkstown South 45, Clarkstown North 33
Victoria Kurisko (Clarkstown South 2018) contributed a game high 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists in Wednesday's victory.


Section II

Colonie 55, Troy 32
Alivia Paeglow (Colonie 2019) was one of two in double figures with 13 points. However, the one that stole the show above all appeared to be Madison Dunlap (Colonie 2019). Madison made her return to the basketball court nearly 9 months after life-threatening injuries sustained in a car-pedestrian accident, and she connected on a pair of field goals (a midrange jumper & a layup off a backdoor cut) in the win.

Columbia 56, Albany 55
Lexi Van Vorst (Columbia 2019) knocked down 4 threes and finished with a game high 18 points as they were able to come back from a halftime deficit and grab the road W Tuesday. Lauren Obermayer (Columbia 2019) also finished in double digits, contributing 10.

Shenendehowa 78, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 17
Still going without the services of Cat Almeida as she recovers from illness, Shen was able to secure its 5th win of a 50+ point margin this season on Tuesday. Cameron Tooley (Shenendehowa 2018; Le Moyne signee) led all scorers with 25 points (4 threes), and Alexandra Tudor (Shenendehowa 2018; St. Francis (BK) signee) added 17 points and 7 assists in the win.

Shaker 47, Ballston Spa 37
Lexi DeBeatham (Shaker 2018) had a game high 15 points and added 6 rebounds & 3 steals in Tuesday's win. Julia DeBeatham (Shaker 2020) hit 3 threes and added 13 points & 3 steals. Shyla Sanford (Shaker 2018; LIU Brooklyn signee) also contributed 13 points & grabbed 6 boards.

Averill Park 58, Niskayuna 37
Stephanie Jankovic (Averill Park 2018; Saint Anselm signee) led all scorers with 17 points in the win, and Amelia Wood (Averill Park 2022) finished with 15 - an early 'career high' in a career that's just getting started. The two combined to hit 7 threes, with all four of Wood's field goals coming from behind the arc.

Saratoga Springs 77, Mohonasen 40
Dolly Cairns (Saratoga Springs 2020) knocked down 4 threes and led all scorers with 18 points, as the Blue Streaks used the strength of a 25-4 2nd quarter to gain a comfortable edge. Kerry Flaherty (Saratoga Springs 2019; Holy Cross commit) contributed double digits as well, scoring 10 points. In defeat, Breanna Lott (Mohonasen 2020) finished with a team high 15 points.

Catholic Central 46, Holy Names 32
Ahniysha Jackson (CCHS 2020) tied for the game high with 13 points in Tuesday's win, as they avenged their only league loss and removed AHN from the ranks of the unbeaten.

Catholic Central 71, Lansingburgh 10
Sarah Mattfeld (CCHS 2021) led all scorers with 16 points, and the Crusaders earned a lopsided Colonial Council win on Wednesday. Emily Frodyma (CCHS 2018) and Ahniysha Jackson (CCHS 2020) added 12 points apiece in the win.

Gloversville 63, South Glens Falls 46
Harmony Philo (Gloversville 2019) continued her recent tear through the Foothills, as Gloversville's all-time leading scorer went off for a game high 34 points - hitting 6 threes and going 10/10 from the line in the process. Per Times-Union statistics, Harmony is 5th in Section II in PPG (21.5), T-1st in 3-pointers made (55), and 4th in FT% (85.9%).

Tamarac 56, Mechanicville 41
Renna Poulin (Tamarac 2019) led all scorers with 21 points in Wednesday's win.

Cobleskill-Richmondville 55, Ravena 40
Lauren Hill (Cobleskill 2018) led all scorers with 15 points (3 threes) in the win, and Allie Pacatte (Cobleskill 2018) added 12. Cobleskill led 24-8 after 1 quarter.

Schalmont 54, Voorheesville 50 (OT)
The Graber sisters combined for 40 of the Sabres' 54 points, as they were able to come back from a halftime deficit and grab an OT win on the road. Payton Graber (Schalmont 2022) led all scorers with 24 points in the win, and Madison Graber (Schalmont 2018; SUNY Cortland commit) contributed 16 points. In defeat, Victoria Konicki (Voorheesville 2019) finished with a team high 17 points.

Ichabod Crane 55, Cohoes 38
Sam Dayter (Cohoes 2018; SUNY Poly commit) paced Cohoes in defeat with 16 points.

Hoosick Falls 65, Greenwich 51
Logan Thayne (Hoosick Falls 2020), who has been on a tear of 20-30 point games lately, went off for a game and new career high 37 points in the win. She stepped out and knocked down 5 threes in the process. In defeat, Molly Brophy (Greenwich 2021) contributed a team high 21 points for the Witches.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 73, Canajoharie 63
Taylor Meacham (BKW 2020) hit 4 threes and dropped 24 points, as they were able to escape an upset bid with a 30 point 4th quarter.

Heatly 62, Bishop Maginn 26
Kyra Oeffler (Heatly 2018; Sage commit) led all scorers with 19 points in the Tuesday night win.

Lake George 57, Warrensburg 49
Hope Boland (Warrensburg 2020) contributed 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 assists in defeat on Tuesday.


Section III

West Genesee 60, Liverpool 52
Mackenzie Smith (West Genesee 2019) finished with a team high 17 points, hitting 3 threes in the process. Madison Smith (West Genesee 2019) hit a pair of treys herself and contributed 16 points in the victory.

Fayetteville-Manlius 54, Henninger 42
Lexie Roe (Fayetteville-Manlius 2021) led all scorers with 17 points in Tuesday's win, knocking down 3 threes in the process.

Baldwinsville 59, Nottingham 51
Chyna Butler (Nottingham 2018) pumped in a game high 20 points in defeat on Tuesday.

Nottingham 61, Fulton 37
Chyna Butler (Nottingham 2018) finished with 19 points, tying for the game high, as they got a win in the 2nd half of their mid-week back-to-back on Wednesday.

Cicero-North Syracuse 62, Corcoran 20
In a game that saw 9 players in the scoring column for the Northstars, Jess Cook (Cicero-North Syracuse 2021) was one of two in double figures, finishing with 10.

South Jefferson 61, Whitesboro 42
Jenna Zimmerman (South Jefferson 2018; Le Moyne signee) had a big game, finishing with a game high 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 blocks in Tuesday's win. Alyssa Stevenson (South Jefferson 2019) also had a double-double, finishing with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Phoenix 67, ITC/Fowler 25
Samantha Doupe (Phoenix 2018) was one of three in double figures for the Firebirds, finishing with 13 points in the W. They led 40-8 at halftime.

Phoenix 53, Auburn 51
Samantha Doupe (Phoenix 2018) hit 3 threes and finished with a game high 16 points on Wednesday, as they were able to go 2-0 in their mid-week back-to-back.

Chittenango 52, Marcellus 42
Ally Shoemaker (Chittenango 2020) filled the stat line in Wednesday's win, finishing with 15 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists, and 3 steals.

Holland Patent 68, Sherburne-Earlville 29
Haedyn Roberts (Holland Patent 2020) pumped in a game high 21 points in Tuesday's win, along with 12 rebounds and 5 blocks.

Sauquoit Valley 55, Mount Markham 40
Allison Moreau (Sauquoit Valley 2019), Section III's leading scorer, hit 4 threes and dropped a game high 26 points in the victory.

Little Falls 59, Frankfort-Schuyler 41
Olivia Langdon (Little Falls 2019) led all scorers with 17 points in the Mounties' win.

Waterville 83, Westmoreland 35
Sophie Wittenbeck (Waterville 2018), who's now approaching the 1,000 point mark, led all scorers with 19 points in the victory.

Waterville 79, Poland 18
Sophie Wittenbeck (Waterville 2018) finished with 13 points, tying for the game high, as the Indians finished their mid-week back-to-back +109 on their opposition.


Section IV

Seton Catholic 67, Norwich 44
Hanna Strawn (2016 ESTer; Seton Catholic 2018, Monmouth signee) and Marina Maerkl (Seton Catholic 2019) both finished in double digits, scoring 11 & 10 points respectively. In defeat, Triniti Myers (Norwich 2019) finished with a team high 15 points, and Abby Flynn (Norwich 2020) joined her in double figures with 12.

Deposit/Hancock 62, Sidney 40
Laycee Drake (Hancock 2021) dropped 25 points to lead all scorers in Wednesday's win.


Section VII

Beekmantown 58, AuSable Valley 39
Alyssa Waters (2016 ESTer; Beekmantown 2018) dropped a game high 28 points in Wednesday night's win.

Bolton 65, Wells 29
Kate Van Auken (Bolton 2021) finished with a game high 24 points in Wednesday night's victory. She was joined in double figures by both Maddy Pratt (Bolton 2018) and Maria Baker (Bolton 2021), who had 14 & 10, respectively.

Johnsburg 53, Lake Placid 46
Khaleah Cleveland (Johnsburg 2019) finished with 15 points & 8 rebounds in the victory on Tuesday.


Section IX

Kingston 61, Pine Bush 54
Chloe Chaffin (Kingston 2018; Fordham signee) finished with 18 points in Wednesday's victory.

Middletown 54, Newburgh 41
Kiki Kennedy (Middletown 2020), one of the section's leading scorers, dropped a game high 34 points in their win.

Washingtonville 69, Valley Central 58
Megan Roell (Valley Central 2018) finished with a team high 16 points in defeat on Wednesday.

Cornwall 50, Goshen 37
Maggie Malone (Cornwall 2019), already a 1,000 point scorer, finished with a team high 17 points in the victory on Wednesday. In defeat, Erin Smith (Goshen 2020) led all scorers with 19 points despite battling a leg cramp in the 2nd half. The two were teammates for EST champion Outwork in 2017.

Marlboro 72, Roosevelt 61
In defeat, Deliah Smith (FDR 2020) and Jaelen Daubon (FDR 2020) each contributed 14 points.
