EST Girls Top 10 and The Best of The Rest; Week of 1/25

Just a friendly reminder - this list includes people who played in last year's Empire State Takeover summer league and/or fall event, and only those people. I am not sports media; I run basketball leagues and events. I'm showing love to the kids & families that have shown love to EST and participated. If you're unhappy about not being listed, and you didn't play in EST, my advice is to ask about participating this summer (if you have remaining high school eligibility).

10.) Natalie DiSalvo (5'10" G; Canton 2016) - All-EST 2nd Teamer hung a game high 25 points in their 70-36 victory Thursday.

9.) Ava Fitzmaurice (5'7" G; Greenville 2018) - Currently the Section II leader in 3 pointers made (67), she hit 6 en route to a game high 27 points in a 59-31 W last Tuesday.

8.) Saeeda Abdul-Aziz (5'11" G/F; Mohonasen 2017) - The All-EST 1st Team selection had a big game last Monday, finishing with a game high 29 points (3 3s, 8/8 FT), 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks in a 60-56 setback.

7.) Rebekkah Dean (5'8" G/F; Mekeel 2018) - Finished with a pair of game highs during the week - 21 points in a 41-11 W Wednesday, and then 20 points in a 58-49 setback to Tamarac Saturday.

6.) Olivia Marshall (5'10" F; Stockbridge Valley 2017) - Marshall contributed a game high 20 points in their 50-29 W Thursday, then followed it with a game high 19 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 8 blocks in a 45-35 L Friday.

5.) Danielle Caivana (5'2" G; Frankfort-Schuyler 2017) - Not the last time we'll see Frankfort on the list; the All-EST Honorable Mention pick had a pair of big games over the week herself though. She had 23 points and 4 assists in a 81-30 W Thursday, then dropped 25 more with 5 rebounds & 5 assists in a 84-40 W Saturday.

4.) Lyndsey McCoy (5'4" G; Middleburgh 2017) - Came through with 25 points (13/16 FT), which believe it or not only tied for a team high, in a 67-60 W Monday. She followed it up with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists in a 65-52 W over rival Schoharie in a packed SUNY Cobleskill house Friday.

3.) Shiane Irwin (5'5" G; Poland 2017) - Some people had some really big weeks when the person who scored their 1,000th point is 3rd. Irwin dropped a game high 21 points in a 53-49 W over a tough Waterville team, and then followed it with a team high 19 - bumping her career total to 1,015 - along with 3 assists and 2 steals in a 64-52 W.

2.) Danielle Migliore (5'7" G; Frankfort-Schuyler 2016, St. Bonaventure 2020) - Huge week for the inaugural girls Empire State Takeover MVP. She dropped a game high 40 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 assists in a 73-50 W Monday, a game high 35 points (in 3 quarters), 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocks in a 81-30 W Thursday, then another game high of 30 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 6 steals in a 84-40 W Saturday. All-in-all, she averaged 35 PPG, 8.3 RPG, 4.7 APG, and 2.7 SPG in a 3-0 week.

1.) Nina Fedullo (5'11" G/F; Amsterdam 2017) - If Migliore had a huge week, Fedullo had a huge week. All-EST 2nd Teamer had 4 big performances in a 7 day stretch, and like Migliore, had a 100 point week. She dropped a game high 24 points, 13 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 blocks in a 64-41 W Monday, and added a game high 22 points & 10 rebounds in a 56-51 setback Wednesday. Then came the weekend trip to the Mecca Challenge in NYC. Nina hung a game & career high 37 points and 8 rebounds in a 80-53 W over JFK Saturday, and followed it up with a team high 17 points & 12 rebounds in a 55-43 setback to Truman Sunday. She averaged 25 PPG & 10.8 RPG over the course of 4 games, bumping her career points total to 938. She's since added to that and set a milestone... if you haven't read about that yet, you'll hear it in next week's list!
