Last year's 1st annual EST boys summer showcase league featured 3
regular participants & 2 alternates from the Wasaren League. All 5
of those that attended at some point received all-league honors this
year. Congrats to those 4, listed below - top 3 being the regular
participants.
All-EST Honorable Mention Mitchel Wayand (Stillwater 2016, RPI 2020) - Wasaren League MVP
All-EST Honorable Mention Connor McCart (Hoosick Falls 2016) - All-Wasaren 1st Team
Jared D'Aloia (Stillwater 2017) - All-Wasaren 1st Team
Zach Travis (Stillwater 2017) - All-Wasaren 2nd Team
Anthony Zotto (Tamarac 2016) - All-Wasaren Honorable Mention
The 5 players dotted 4 different teams, with the regular participants
all wearing different colors over the summer. Wayand was a member of
Marcella Appliances, along with Travis; schoolmate D'Aloia suited up for
Rising Stars. McCart wore the black jersey last summer for Man Up, and
Zotto participated as a member of Upstate Select.
Wayand's
scoring prowess was a driving force behind him making the Honorable
Mention list in EST, with an average of 11.1 PPG, which put him just
outside the Top 10. He had a season high of 23, and scored in a variety
of ways (18 2s, 11 3s, 9/13 FT). His production for Stillwater exploded
this winter. Wayand pumped in 25.4 PPG, tied for 4th in Section 2, which
featured a season/career high of 38 along with another game where he
scored 28 in the 1st half. He scored 30+ on 7 different occasions this
season, and again got his points in every way (110 2s, 78 3s, 104 FT).
Mitchel's graduating at 3rd on Stillwater's all-time scoring list; he
finished his career with 1,239 points, after scoring his 1,000th in an
early January win over Tamarac. He also consistently had 5-10 rebounds,
making him one of the better rebounding guards in the section. As
mentioned above, the standout senior - tops in his class at Stillwater -
will be continuing his education & hoop career at RPI.
McCart also showed his scoring ability in EST last year, along with a
more well-rounded offensive game that continued to be put on display
over the winter. He averaged 13.3 PPG (8th in EST) with a season high of
23. He also shot 15/19 from the line (78.9%, 5th in EST for those with a
qualifying number of attempts) and hit 5 threes, which was an extension
of his game that he didn't show or use his junior year. This winter,
McCart averaged 18.1 PPG while also being a double-digit rebounder in
most games. The statistical highlight of his year was a 46 point, 16
rebound outburst in a late December W over Granville. McCart, who played
down low for Hoosick Falls, also hit 15 threes on the year. Already well-traveled - he missed 2 weeks last summer while interning at Nike headquarters in Oregon - McCart is mulling over a handful of Division III & junior college options.
D'Aloia's game blossomed this winter, which he showed signs of
throughout last summer at Union. He averaged 7.5 PPG in EST, with the
highlight being a 21 point opening night performance, powered by 7
threes. He finished the season with 18 threes, just outside of the
league's top 5. He also proved to be a solid floor general &
facilitator. That's the least that could be said about him this winter,
as he filled the stat sheet enough to flirt with triple-doubles on a
handful of occasions. He also hit 45 threes and got to the line often en
route to averaging 14.5 PPG (season high 31).
Travis came
through during a mid-July week in EST and was productive offensively,
scoring 11 & 10 points in his 2 games. Much of that came off his
work on the offensive boards. That hard hat mentality showed throughout
the winter, as he also averaged double digits for a successful
Stillwater team (11 PPG) while also being their leading rebounder.
Zotto suited up on two separate weeks for Upstate Select in July,
averaging 3.5 PPG over 4 games. The athletic guard was effective when
his team was able to pick up the pace and get in the open court. He
fought through an ankle injury over part of the winter and averaged 11.7
PPG (season high 24) for Tamarac.

Trio of Foothills EST All-Stars Take Home All-League Honors
Last year's 1st annual EST girls summer showcase league featured 3
regular participants & 1 alternate from the Foothills Council. All 3
of the regular participants received all-league honors this year.
Congrats to those 3, listed below!
All-EST 2nd Team Nina Fedullo (Amsterdam 2017) - Foothills MVP, Foothills South 1st Team
All-EST 1st Team Lucy Tougas (Glens Falls 2017) - All-Foothills 1st Team, Foothills North 1st Team
All-EST 2nd Team Sophie Tougas (Glens Falls 2019) - All-Foothills 1st Team, Foothills North 1st Team
All-EST 2nd Team Nina Fedullo (Amsterdam 2017) - Foothills MVP, Foothills South 1st Team
All-EST 1st Team Lucy Tougas (Glens Falls 2017) - All-Foothills 1st Team, Foothills North 1st Team
All-EST 2nd Team Sophie Tougas (Glens Falls 2019) - All-Foothills 1st Team, Foothills North 1st Team
Fedullo was a member of Havoc in EST; the Tougas sisters were teammates for All Day.
In EST, Fedullo averaged 8.83 PPG, which was a 3 way tie for 8th. That led a very balanced Havoc team in scoring average (by 1/100 of a point). Her season high was 13, and she was consistently their leading rebounder when in attendance. Her scoring totals exploded for Amsterdam this year, and she etched her name at the top of the record books multiple times. She averaged 19.5 PPG with a season high of 37, and her rebounding totals were consistently in double-digits - to the tune of 11 double-doubles this season. Her season total of 444 points set a single-season record for Amsterdam girls hoops, and not only did she set the career scoring mark at Amsterdam as well (with a year remaining to pad that number), Nina became Amsterdam girls' hoops 1st ever 1,000 point scorer. She's currently sitting at 1,059 points. In fact, the only scoring record at Amsterdam she doesn't hold is the single game mark - which she was 4 points shy of.
Lucy Tougas was instrumental to All Day's eventual championship success in EST last summer. Although she averaged just 6.6 PPG (season high 14), she consistently led All Day in rebounding from the PG spot and was a near 10 assist guarantee; the driving force behind a team that featured 3 of the league's top 4 scorers. She showed that this winter, along with further scoring ability for Section 2 Class B champion Glens Falls. Lucy averaged 14 PPG, 9.5 RPG, and just under 8 APG - including a huge January where she averaged just under an assist shy of a triple-double. Although she's known as more of a facilitator, her career scoring total is approaching 900 - and the Glens Falls girls' scoring record of just over 1,200 is within range.
'Little' sister Sophie Tougas turned into a big contributor as her confidence grew in EST last summer. She averaged 8.5 PPG (season high 17), culminating in a 13 point 1st half outburst in the championship game. Her 102 total points was good for 5th in EST. Her game went to the next level this winter, averaging 18.2 PPG (season high 30) and 10 RPG exactly, a number that spiked in playoffs with rebounding totals of 21, 15, and 14 in consecutive games. If big sister breaks scoring records, little sis will be hot on her heels almost immediately after.
Congrats to these 3 standout athletes - all with time left to go in high school!

4 for 4 - All Foothills EST Boys League Participants Take Home All-League Honors
Last year's 1st annual EST boys summer showcase league featured 4
regular participants from the Foothills Council. All 4 of them received
all-league honors this year. Congrats to those 4, listed below!
All-EST 1st Team Joseph Girard III (Glens Falls 2019) - Foothills MVP
All-EST 2nd Team Matthew Higgins (South Glens Falls 2016) - All-Foothills 1st Team
Kory Bergh (Amsterdam 2016) - All-Foothills 1st Team
All-EST 2nd Team Devin Boyle (Johnstown 2016) - All-Foothills 2nd Team
JG3 & Higgins were EST teammates for Rising Stars; Bergh & Boyle were teammates for Marcella Appliances.
In EST, Girard III was 4th in the league in scoring per game among eligible participants (16.2), 3rd in total points (162), 2nd in 3 pointers made (28), tied for 1st in free throw percentage (88.9%), and his 39 point performance on July 22 was the 2nd highest scoring game of the season; only trailing Albert Odero, who had 48 on the same night. This winter, he pumped in 33.9 PPG (813 total points), 122 threes, and - you guessed it - 88.9% from the line. His season high was 52, which included a 22/22 performance from the line. Among his many accomplishments this season, a laundry list too long to type, he shattered the 1,000 point mark - now approaching 1,300 career points with 3 years of high school hoops remaining.
Higgins was Mr. Consistent in EST, averaging 10.5 PPG while not missing a game. He got it a variety of ways - getting to the rim, mid-range game, 12 threes, and he was 6th in EST at 76.5% from the line. His 137 total points tied him for 5th in total points, with a season high of 20 in playoff semifinals. He showed this consistency over the winter, leading SGF with 18.3 PPG (season high 32), while hitting 38 threes & shooting 111/123 - over 90% - from the free throw line. This included a phenomenal stretch of 43/44 in 2016. The senior's plans for next year have yet to be determined - one of the area's more heavily sought after Division III prospects, Hartwick and SUNY Potsdam have been among his most active suitors.
Bergh didn't light up the scoring column in EST, but his presence was felt more frequently in the role of true point guard. He averaged 8.7 PPG with a season high of 17, which included 8 treys and a 73.3% mark at the line. He assumed the role of do-it-all PG this winter, which included being their main scoring threat, and he did so by pumping in 21.6 PPG (season high 36) while knocking down 72 threes and shooting 77% from the line, along with rebounding well from the guard spot and racking up the assist totals as well. A number of programs have shown interest, especially over the last few months. Currently a solid Division III prospect, 2 years of junior college may also be an option.
Boyle came on very strong in the back half of EST, establishing himself as arguably the best pure shooter at Union each week. He averaged 14.3 PPG, good for 6th in EST, with a season high of 24. He also led EST with 29 treys; 87 of his 143 total points (4th in EST) came from behind the arc. He continued that prowess in the winter, leading Johnstown with 16.4 PPG & 67 threes, per Times Union stats - 2 games weren't reported, so that number was most likely in the 70s. His plans for next year have yet to be decided, but SUNY Cobleskill & SUNY Purchase are among the Division III programs that have shown him the most attention.

Where's Jeff At? February 18-21, 2016
The word has been getting out that I put more miles on my car for EST than the average sane person should. Between that and the occasional person who's not aware of that and just asks where I'm headed, the running line lately has been 'Now where else are you going tonight?'. First off, I love it! Guess that means I'm pretty visible, which is certainly one of the goals. Now, why not - might as well mention where I'm headed for the rest of the week, since I actually have my schedule down for once! So, here it is below.
Thursday (2/18/16)
MHAL Girls Semifinals (Section IX) - games at SUNY Ulster
5:00 - Pine Plains/Spackenkill
7:00 - Saugerties/Marlboro
Pine Plains is led by 6'3" 2017 Ashley Starzyk, who participated in the 2015 EST summer league as a member of Outwork. They have three other underclassmen I'm hoping to get another look at, including Ashley's younger sister Bella (2019). Spackenkill is led by senior Nina Hartenfels; I have 2019 guard Issy Herrera on the list of people to watch. Saugerties is led by seniors Kellyann Averill (St. Thomas Aquinas commit) and Tanisha Edge; getting a look at freshman Grace VanRoy as well. Marlboro is another senior-led team (Julia Rusk) - no one on the watch list, but they seem to have a nice crew from year to year.
Friday (2/19/16)
Section II Boys Class B/C Quarterfinals - games at HVCC
5:00 - Mayfield/Berne-Knox-Westerlo
6:30 - Hudson/Voorheesville
8:00 - Hoosick Falls/Mekeel
I've already seen 4 of these teams, but the matchups at every site in Section II feature teams I've seen. Hoping to get a 2nd look at Mayfield 2019 Garrett Delaney, who scored 27 points in their game earlier this week. Berne-Knox-Westerlo features a pair of 1,000 point scorers that played in the EST summer league as members of Man Up in Justin Houck (2016) and Zach Hilton (2017) - hoping to have Zach back this summer. 21-0 Hudson has a crew that's pretty junior heavy - one I'm particularly interested in for EST is Mike Alert. This will be my first look at Voorheesville, with Sean Nolan (2017) on the list of people to watch. Hoosick Falls is balanced again, but certainly led by All-EST Honorable Mention Connor McCart (2016), who played for Man Up. They face Mekeel, who features EST participant Scott Voelker (2016), who played for Bellevue. It'll be my first look at them this year; Deonte Holder & Carter Stewart, both sophomores, are on the player watch list.
Saturday (2/20/16)
Section III Boys Class AA, B, C, D Semifinals - games at Onondaga CC SRC Arena & Allyn Hall
Games at SRC
11:00 - Tully/Weedsport
12:45 - Cooperstown/Herkimer
2:45 - Sackets Harbor/Oriskany
4:30 - Madison/New York Mills
6:30 - Liverpool/Corcoran
8:15 - Bishop Ludden/Henninger
Games at Allyn
4:00 - Skaneateles/Bishop Grimes
6:00 - Syracuse Academy of Science/Syracuse Institute of Technology Central
Full day of action, with 8 games between the two adjoining facilities (just a walk up the stairs and a hallway separate the two). It'll be a productive day, as I've only seen 7 of the 16 teams so far (8, if you include a Bishop Grimes shootaround at this same OCC facility - may go down as the single most memorable moment of this season). Players here that participated in the EST summer league include All-EST Honorable Mention Tyler Bertram (Cooperstown 2018), Derek Newman (Herkimer 2017), and Andrew Mason (Herkimer 2017). All 3 played for Upstate Select. There's a total of 21 players left on the watch list that will be on the court during the day. In the slots where there are conflicting times, I'll probably be paying more attention to the 4:30 game between Madison & New York Mills and Liverpool/Corcoran at 6:30.
Sunday (2/21/16)
Section III Girls Class AA, A, B, C, D Semifinals - games at Onondaga CC SRC Arena & Allyn Hall
Games at SRC
12:00 - CBA/Jamesville-Dewitt
1:45 - Indian River/Whitesboro
3:45 - Frankfort-Schuyler/Cooperstown
5:30 - Utica Proctor/Cicero-North Syracuse
7:15 - West Genesee/Liverpool
Games at Allyn
11:00 - Copenhagen/Madison
12:45 - Watertown IHC/New York Mills
2:45 - Syracuse Academy of Science/Sauquoit Valley
4:30 - Bishop Ludden/Westhill
6:15 - Skaneateles/South Jefferson
Even bigger of a day, with 10 games between the adjoining SRC Arena and Allyn Hall. Games will be going on simultaneously between 11:00 AM and 9:00 PM. I've seen 10 out of the 20 teams this season - 11 if Poland wins Thursday - although admittedly, I wasn't paying too much attention during Skaneateles & South Jefferson showings. 5 of these teams, including those 2, were seen over Christmas break at this same OCC facility. Players here that participated in the EST summer league include EST MVP Danielle Migliore (Frankfort-Schuyler 2016, St. Bonaventure 2020), All-EST 2nd Team Jordan Lee (Whitesboro 2017), All-EST Honorable Mention Cassidy Albright (New York Mills 2016), All-EST Honorable Mention Danielle Caivana (Frankfort-Schuyler 2017), Liz Millea (Cooperstown 2016, Adelphi 2020), Lexi Tubbs (Madison 2016), and Beana Demarco (Whitesboro 2018). There's a total of 31 players left on the watch list that will be on the court during the day. Every single game has someone playing that's on that list except for Frankfort/Cooperstown, a game I'm interested in because of the matchup in itself - so I'll be bouncing around quite a bit during the day & night.
23 games over the next 4 days with dozens of new faces to watch... bring on the caffeine, and I'll see you on the trail!

Welcome To The Club: 1,000 Points A Destination For Many In EST
To the vast majority of athletes, the most important stat is the letter in the W/L column - as it should be. However, the one individual accolade that no scorer will deny its personal importance is the 1,000 point plateau.
Many players will list it as an individual goal. When someone is getting close, they know. Not only do they have the count going in their head, they're hearing about it often. Whether it's from teammates, classmates/teachers in the hall, or league coordinators tweeting about it (sorry), the buzz is all around.
Many of these athletes that participated in the inaugural Empire State Takeover summer showcase leagues have either surpassed the 1,000 point plateau this year, already did so before last summer, or are rapidly approaching it now. A total of 15 boys that participated have scored 1,000 points, with 10 coming this season; 10 girls have also crossed the barrier, with 7 doing so this winter. A number of players on both sides are quickly getting there. A quick rundown of these elite scorers:
Boys
- All-EST 2nd Team Ty'Jon Gilmore (Watervliet 2016) scored his 1,000th point on December 22, in a 21 point performance against Ravena. His current point total was not readily available, but is in the 1,150 range.
- All-EST Honorable Mention Mitchel Wayand (Stillwater 2016) was the 2nd to surpass it this year, doing so in a 27 point game on January 5 against Tamarac (putting him at 1,000 exactly). His current career point total stands at 1,204, as of February 18.
- All-EST 2nd Team Tyler Lamport (South Kortright 2017) reached his 1,000th the day after Wayand, also in a 27 point performance against Roxbury. He's kept up his pace since then, currently sitting at 1,208 career points as of February 18.
- Zach Hilton (Berne-Knox-Westerlo 2017) got his 1,000th point on January 13, scoring 25 points against Schoharie when he was just 1 point away to start the game. Hilton's current point total is now 1,186, as of February 18.
- Danny Reidell (Northville 2017) scored his 1,000th point just 2 days later, on January 15. Sitting at 988 career points, he finished with 29 against Johnsburg. He's since worked his way up to 1,144 career points as of February 18.
- The youngest on the list is All-EST 1st Team Joseph Girard III (Glens Falls 2019), who scored his 1,000th in a 47 point performance against South Glens Falls on January 26. He needed all of them, not just for his individual number (953 going into the game), but also for the team, which won 81-77 in 2OT. With 4 games under his belt since then, he's at 1,132 career points as of February 18.
- The 7th from EST to hit 1,000, and the 2nd straight All-EST 1st Team to do so, was Zac O'Dell (Schalmont 2016, Swarthmore 2020). His 12 point game in a blowout W over Watervliet on February 2 was enough to bump him into the 1,000 point club. As of February 18, his total is in the 1,065 range.
- Kory Bergh (Amsterdam 2016) punched his ticket to the 1,000 point club as part of a very active week for this accomplishment, and one of two that played in EST to do it on the same day. He finished with a team high 19 points against Green Tech on February 5 to hit the mark. As of February 18, his total is in the 1,060-1,070 range.
- On the same day as Bergh, Justin Houck (Berne-Knox-Westerlo 2016) became not only the 2nd to do it on February 5, but the 2nd BKW player to hit 1,000 on the season - after the aforementioned Hilton. Houck had a game high 16 points in a victory over Mayfield to reach the milestone. His scoring total is in the 1,020-1,030 range, as of February 18.
- All-EST Honorable Mention Tyler Bertram (Cooperstown 2018) killed 2 birds with 1 stone using a 39 point performance on February 8, becoming the 4th boy that participated in EST to score his 1,000th point in a 7 day stretch. Before hitting that mark, which he needed all 39 of those points to achieve, he broke Cooperstown's single-season scoring record in the 2nd quarter. The previous record was 581, held by former Colgate standout Seth Schaeffer; as of February 18, Bertram's single season total stands at 675, and his career mark is 1,069.
A few were members of 'the club' before this season. Those participants are:
- All-EST Honorable Mention Adam Jaquish (Moriah 2016), who came into this season with 1,147 career points. He's now up to 1,503, and he's also joined the much more uncommon 1,000 rebound club as well (1,058) - both totals as of February 8.
- All-EST Honorable Mention Kobe Lufkin (Argyle 2017), who started off the season with 1,060 points. With another full season remaining, he's sitting at an incredible 1,882 points.
- Chris Boucher (Fort Edward 2016) started the season with 1,069 points to his name. After another prolific season, he finished a stellar high school career with 1,824 points.
- Dyaire Holt (Life Prep (KS) 2016) was a member of the 1,000 point club at Troy before transferring this year.
- Andrew Platek (Northfield Mount Hermon (MA) 2017) is a member of the 1,000 point club at Guilderland, where he achieved it last year before transferring.
Some names to look out for include:
- Louden Porter (Canton 2017)
- Taylor Slattery (Moriah 2016)
Girls
- Emily Padalino (Albany Academy for Girls 2016) scored her 1,000th point in a 21 point performance against Voorheesville on December 11. She kept up her scoring pace - after a 1st round sectional loss, she finished her career with 1,421 career points.
- All-EST Honorable Mention Cassidy Albright (New York Mills 2016) scored her 1,000th point on December 29 in a win over Oriskany. She needed 26, and finished with 27. After winning a Section 3, Class D championship & eventually falling in the regional final, Albright finished her career with 1,303 career points.
- All-EST 1st Team Saeeda Abdul-Aziz (Mohonasen 2017) was 1 of 2 juniors to achieve this milestone on December 30. Her 25 point game against Ichabod Crane, needing a dozen to hit the millenium mark, did the job. With her junior season in the books, her career scoring total is 1,292 - 44 away from tying the Mohonasen career scoring mark.
- The other junior to write her name in school history books on December 30 was Olivia Marshall (Stockbridge Valley 2017), who started the day off with 999 and had 31 points in a W over Otselic Valley. The only 1,000 point scorer to ever play at Stockbridge - boy or girl - finished off her junior campaign with 1,303 career points.
- Shiane Irwin (Poland 2017) is the most recent girls' addition to the club, doing so on January 29 with a 19 point performance against New York Mills - featuring the aforementioned Albright, who was her AAU and EST teammate with Lady Knicks. She wrapped up her junior campaign with a 23 point performance in a tough Section 3, Class D quarterfinal loss, putting her at 1,114 career points with a season to go.
- All-EST 2nd Team Natalie DiSalvo (Canton 2016) reached the millenium mark in the first game of their playoff run in Section X, Class B. Needing 21 to reach the mark, she dropped 22 in the 1st half & 27 in the game to blow past it in a blowout semifinal W. Heading into state semifinals, DiSalvo is sitting at 1,027 career points.
- Lexi Tubbs (Madison 2016) became the 7th girl that participated in EST to reach the 1,000 point mark in the 2015-16 campaign, and the 10th to do it in general, during her Section 3, Class D quarterfinal win over Hamilton. She came in with 994 career points, and despite facing a triangle & 2 against her for much of the outing, she finished with 8 points to hit the mark. Her 1,000th came on a free throw, completing a 3 point play in the middle of the 3rd quarter. She finished her standout career with 1,015 career points.
- All-EST 2nd Team Nina Fedullo (Amsterdam 2017) became her school's first ever female 1,000 point scorer on February 20, scoring 27 points in a Section 2, Class A quarterfinal win over Mohonasen. She started off the game needing just 7 to hit the millennium mark. After a loss in the sectional finals, she wrapped up her junior year with 1,059 points. She also became Amsterdam's girls career scoring leader on February 1 with a 23 point game. The previous record, set in 1989, was 954.
Three hit the 1,000 point mark last year. And they are:
- 2015 EST MVP Danielle Migliore (Frankfort-Schuyler 2016, St. Bonaventure 2020), who's working her way into record books beyond her high school. She started off the season with 1,299 career points, and a huge scoring senior year brought her career total up to 2,019. She's now the career scoring leader at Frankfort-Schuyler, girl or boy, and is 9th on Section 3's all-time scoring list in girls' hoops.
- Liz Millea (Cooperstown 2016, Adelphi 2020) came into her senior year with 1,188 career points. Another productive year in the scoring column for her has bumped that total to 1,762 and counting, recently surpassing the Cooperstown all-time career scoring mark held by former Colgate standout Seth Schaeffer (1,719) - she already has the all-time girls' mark, achieved earlier this season.
- All-EST Honorable Mention Abby Fountain (Catholic Central 2016) scored her 1,000th point late last season. Many of those came before her transfer, as a member of the Waterford girls team. A career point total wasn't readily available, but she's in the 1,350-1,400 range.
Many players will list it as an individual goal. When someone is getting close, they know. Not only do they have the count going in their head, they're hearing about it often. Whether it's from teammates, classmates/teachers in the hall, or league coordinators tweeting about it (sorry), the buzz is all around.

EST Girls Top 10 and The Best of The Rest; Week of 1/25
Just a friendly reminder - this list includes people who played in
last year's Empire State Takeover summer league and/or fall event, and
only those people. I am not sports media; I run basketball leagues and
events. I'm showing love to the kids & families that have shown love
to EST and participated. If you're unhappy about not being listed, and
you didn't play in EST, my advice is to ask about participating this
summer (if you have remaining high school eligibility).
10.) Natalie DiSalvo (5'10" G; Canton 2016) - All-EST 2nd Teamer hung a game high 25 points in their 70-36 victory Thursday.

EST Boys Top 10 and The Best of The Rest; Week of 1/25
Just a friendly reminder - this list includes people who played in last year's Empire State Takeover summer league and/or fall event, and only those people. I am not sports media; I run basketball leagues and events. I'm showing love to the kids & families that have shown love to EST and participated. If you're unhappy about not being listed, and you didn't play in EST, my advice is to ask about participating this summer (if you have remaining high school eligibility or will be doing a post-grad prep year).
